Google Nexus aiming to unseat iPhone dominance.

Publish On 01-05-2010 , 2:38 PM

One giant gorilla just landed in the smartphone jungle with the name Nexus.  Google has dubbed it their "Super-smartphone", and looking at the specs it's not hard to see why.

The Android 2.1 device features a super fast 1 GHZ Snapdragon CPU with a beefy internal 512 RAM.
The device can be expanded to 32GB with it's SD card slot, and apparently includes a free 4 GB SD card as part of the deal.

http://syncpedia.com/content/_files/Image/other/nexgor.jpg According to hand on reviews, the 3.7-inch OLED screen is amazing. The display is larger than the iPhone, and by all accounts more vibrant and colorful.

Beyond the hardware, the software is reported to be very slick - such as interactive animated backgrounds, or advanced weather widgets. But even more interesting is that the Nexus includes advanced voice to text command recognition, so you can operate the device hand free.

This news must really be a downer to the folks at Motorola, as the device is rumored to be about 60% faster, and that raw power is going to take the limelight off the Droid for sure.
But the ultimate target is of course the Apple iPhone, and while many have claimed the title "iPhone killer", it is yet to be seen who really has the best sword.
What do you think, is this device a true game changer?
