Android will support software running on memory cards.

Publish On 01-07-2010 , 2:39 PM

Probably the biggest news spreading on the mobile wire today is that Google has announced plans to provide a new feature within Google Android that will allow you to store and run applications directly on your expansion cards.
Up to now users have only been able to run software on internal memory, to prevent piracy more than any technical limitations.
But Google is busy devising some system to allow you to move your software onto external memory, with built in encryption, giving your the portability you want but still preventing piracy.

It is a pretty great addition, although at the same time makes me think fondly of simpler days when corporations didn't feel the need to constrict you but allowed you to use your data as you pleased.
