| iPhone users: No Flash for you!
Publish On 02-02-2010 , 3:21 PM
iPhone users have been begging for flash support, but apparently the concept has been pretty much rejected by Lord Jobs.
According to the rumors, CEO Steve Jobs suggested in a recent internal meeting that Flash would soon be irrelevant since HTML5 would include rich media support currently needed by the proprietary Adobe Flash format.
If true that is clearly bad news for Adobe, who has been actively striving to get Flash support on the iPhone.
Personally i'm not sure how likely it is that HTML5 will be a true replacement for Flash. Certainly HTML5 will offer much of the basic flash like functionality, but it is missing the advanced features that have made Flash the standard. Of course if there is anything that is clear from recent history, it is that technology never stays still.
What do you think - is the lack of Flash commitment from Apple bothersome to you?

| | 2. | No flash , no buyers. That is what i think , nothing can replace adobe , because everybody loves them. I don't think html5 will not have something that can beat flash in any aspect. - by Armando, 05-12-2010, 7:20 AM
